MTN Skills Academy is a free digital learning platform created by the telecommunications giant MTN. It’s an innovative educational platform that helps young people learn the digital and financial skills they need to succeed in the 21st century economy. The main aim of the academy is to close the gap between the growing need for digital skills and the limited availability of trained talent.

This user-friendly, web-based platform is open to anyone with a browsing mobile device. It gives free access to digital and financial courses, career advice, and a variety of training programs that are essential for success in today’s digital economy.

Impact Across Africa

MTN Skills Academy is already making a strong impact across the continent. In Eswatini, for example, the program has provided over 2,500 free learning licenses to students, who are already sharing many inspiring success stories.

One such success story is that of Sipho Dlamini from Mbabane, who gained data analysis and software development skills through the academy and secured a position as a data analyst at a leading tech company.

As Sipho shared, “The Skills Academy changed my life. It opened doors I never thought possible.”

Another beneficiary, Tandzile Dlamini, completed 18 foundation courses and emphasized how practical and relevant the training was:

“The courses were not only accessible but directly applicable to the job market. I now feel more confident and prepared for my career.”

In South Africa, 742 young people recently graduated from MTN’s Digital Skills for Digital Jobs initiative and are now ready to enter the workforce with essential digital skills.

How to Get Started

If you’re interested in learning tech skills, just head over to MTN Skills Academy to sign up and start exploring the courses available.

To wrap it up, MTN Skills Academy shows how companies can truly make a difference through social responsibility. MTN is helping to prepare a new generation that’s ready to take on the future and drive Africa’s growth and digital progress through digital education and skill-building. Programs like this will be key in giving young people the tools they need to face tomorrow’s challenges and seize new opportunities.
